Preserve Formatting in Excel

When you build a Cube View, Quick View, or Table View you have the option to enable the Preserve Excel Format setting. This setting enables you to preserve local Excel formatting without the need to create custom, conditional, or selection styles. When enabling preserve formatting on Cube Views or Table Views, we recommend disabling the Insert or delete rows or columns when resizing cube view content.

NOTE: When Preserve Excel Format is enabled for Table Views, the DataType column must be specified as numeric. See DataType Object for Column Fields.

Enable Preserve Excel Format

To turn on the Preserve Format setting, create a Quick View, Cube View, or Table View. In the respective dialog box, enable the Preserve Excel Format setting.

On already created views, you can edit the view and enable the setting.

When enabled, changes made to the sheet will be kept, even after you save and refresh your sheet. Additionally, you can copy your view and associated formatting will remain on the duplicated view when the Preserve Format setting is enabled on the source Cube View, Quick View, or Table View.
