Release PV620 SV200

The theme of this release is UI and functionality enhancements, the introduction of the report package function, and the modification of existing metrics and reports within System Diagnostics.

Prerequisites

This release supports an upgrade from previous releases of System Diagnostics.

Since this solution can be installed in multiple OneStream applications, refer to the following for upgrading to SV200:

  • Upgrading System Diagnostics using only one OneStream application:

    • Log in to the application where System Diagnostics is currently loaded.

    • Click on the settings icon and navigate to Uninstall.

    • Click on Uninstall UI.

    • Navigate to Application > Load/Extract and load the PV620 SV200 .zip file.

    • Click Setup Tables to update the database schema from previous versions of System Diagnostics.

    • Click Launch Solution.

  • Upgrading System Diagnostics connected using multiple OneStream applications:

    • Log in to System Diagnostics for each of the applications and perform the following:

      • Click on the settings icon and click Uninstall.

      • Click on Uninstall UI.

      • Once this has been done in all applications, log in to each application and load the PV620 SV200 .zip file to upgrade.

      • Click Setup Tables to update the database schema from previous versions of System Diagnostics.

      • Click Launch Solution.

New

  • A new Report Package functionality has been added to automatically take an environment and application snapshot, run through all system reports, and create a .zip file in the user's file share location. Any errors processed during the report package execution will be included within the .zip file as a .txt file. (MP7-5, MP7-214)

  • The Machine Culture Name field has been added to the application server grid. This will allow users to know if the application servers are assigned the same machine culture name. (MP7-2)

  • The platform server version has been added to the existing application snapshot summary report and the database version has been added to the Database Sizes report. (MP7-210, MP7-211)

  • A new report named Database Table Sizes has been added under the Application Analysis reports. This report will contain data for both the application and framework table types and is based on the most recent application snapshot. (MP7-6)

  • A new report named Database Sizes has been added under the Environment Analysis reports. This report will contain data for both the application and framework. (MP7-179)

    • Cloud customers will also see a new Elastic Pool Usage pie chart that will appear above the Database Sizes report. The chart will display allocated, used, and unused space of the cloud customer's elastic pool. (MP7-187)

  • The following new metrics have been added under the Application metrics:

    • Potential Number of Stored Data Cells for Largest Data Unit (MP7-11)

Release PV620 SV100

The theme for this release is the addition of Application Analysis and rebranding to System Diagnostics.

Prerequisites

Uninstall

  • This release does not support an overinstall of System Diagnostics. An uninstall UI or uninstall full is recommended before upgrading to this release version.

  • A full uninstall of System Diagnostics breaks any other installations of System Diagnostics within the same environment.

Schema or Database Changes

  • If upgrading from PV430 SV100, an Uninstall UI (under Settings) of System Diagnostics is required before installing this release. See the chapter on How to Install in the System Diagnostics Guide.

New

  • This solution was previously named Diagnostics 123 but has been rebranded as System Diagnostics. (MP3-187)

  • The Application Analysis snapshot lets you capture critical application metrics and data volume statistics for any available applications in the current environment. (MP3-165)

    • You can manage the list of snapshots, and compare any two snapshots in any available applications, as well as change a snapshot's name.

    • Application metrics captured for Data volume statistics include Cube data, Stage data, Register data and BiBlend data.

    • All previously created snapshots are permanently accessible until you delete them.

  • The Application Metrics Panel displays two tabs that show critical application metrics and data volume statistics, providing more insights to diagnose performance issues. (MP3-169)

    • The Application Metrics tab shows each defined statistic, its status, instance counts and diagnostic information.

    • The Data Volume Stats tab shows details for Cube and State data volumes, Register data volumes, and BiBlend data volumes.

  • Application Analysis includes three reports that let you assess the overall information being presented in Application Analysis results. (MP3-171)

    • The Snapshot Summary report shows information captured and available in the Application Metrics tab.

    • The Long-Running Formulas report shows any formulas associated with the application that take longer than five seconds to run.

    • The MarketPlace Solution Deployment report shows all the MarketPlace solutions associated with the application selected in the Snapshot panel dropdown filter.

  • Application Analysis comparison lets you view and compare application statistics between any two snapshots in any of your current environment's applications. This information is available in either a Snapshot Comparison window, or in a PDF report. (MP3-172)

  • A task in the OneStream Task Scheduler is automatically generated when System Diagnostics is installed. This automates snapshot creation so a snapshot is taken at 11:30 PM on the third Saturday of the month. (MP3-162)

Enhancements

  • Two reports have been added to Environment Analysis to support enhanced environment and user concurrency reporting for a more granular understanding of environment usage. (MP3-829)

    • The Error Log report shows the last 30 days of task log activity based on when the selected environment snapshot was taken.

    • The Task Activity Log report shows the last 30 days of error log activity based on when the selected environment snapshot was taken.

  • The following statistics are included as items in the Gen-Stage Concurrency group when running Environment Analysis:

    • Number of Enabled User Licenses

    • Number of Disabled User Licenses

    • Actual Concurrent Logins

    • Actual Concurrent Users

Fixed

  • A user with culture code set to French could not create a new snapshot with System Diagnostics. (MP3-823)

Known Issues

None.
