Dynamic Dimensions are defined, maintained and initialized through workspace assembly files. For dynamic dimensions and dynamic cubes to functions in other applications and environments, workspaces must be present, as well as connectivity to required external sources. Where underlying requirements are not supported, or the requirement for a dynamic dimension does not exist, dynamic dimensions can be extracted as a standard dimensions.
Note the following:

They are only supported by dimensions using metadata extract

Dimensions extracted as dynamic dimensions only present the dimension properties in the XML output
Conversion
To convert a dynamic dimension to a standard dimension:

Browse to Application > Load Extract.

Select Metadata as the extract choice.

Select the dynamic dimension you want to extract.

Right-click and select Select Member to Extract.

In the dialog box, check the box labeled Extract Dynamic Dimension as Standard Dimension. This converts the extracted items to a standard dimension.
