Developer Studio Release 1.1.0

The theme of this Minor release is new features and enhancements to Developer Studio.

Highlights

  • This release of Developer Studio introduces capabilities designed to accelerate development workflows, including the XML page for managing XF Projects, integration with the command line interface with a skill file download enabling agentic editor workflows and preview capabilities for push and pull operations. Usability improvements include a launch page for easy access to resources, automatic update checks, automatic population of repository items, and a repository item tree view for easier navigation and selection.

New Features

Command Line Interface

  • The command line interface (CLI) can be used to perform Developer Studio operations. Actions performed in the CLI are reflected in Developer Studio, enabling you to use your preferred workflow without losing synchronization between tools. See Using the Command Line with Developer Studio.

  • You can download a skill file directly from the CLI that gives your AI tool contextual knowledge of ODS commands, enabling you to sync to OneStream without leaving your AI editor. See Command Reference.

XF Project

  • The XML tab enables you to efficiently manage, package, and sync OneStream objects and solutions with XF Projects. See XML Items.(PF6-9107, PF6-9013)

.NET Items

  • Before pushing or pulling, you can view a preview of the results and review changes, which provides visibility into incoming and outgoing changes before they are applied. See Push and Pull . (PF6-9030)

  • You can display the Repository Items grid in a hierarchy view, enabling you to select all business rule items and select all assemblies under a specific Workspace or maintenance unit. See .NET Repository Items Grid. (PF6-9015)

Miscellaneous

  • Developer Studio automatically detects available updates on startup and directs you to the Solution Exchange to download the new version, helping you to stay current with minimal effort. See Automatic Updates. (PF6-9037)

  • The launch page streamlines Developer Studio login flow. See Connect . (PF6-9006)

  • When a repository is created, all .xfproj files in the repository automatically display in the Repository Items grid to reduce manual setup. See Repository Setup.

Enhancements

  • UI enhancements are made across Developer Studio to improve usability, clarity, and user experience.

  • You are required to log in before accessing Developer Studio features. (PF6-9006)

  • To manage repository items, hover over each item in the grid or right-click to display icons and a context menu with additional actions.

  • The Help menu provides access to the Developer Portal and OneStream Community, giving you connections to documentation, support, and peer resources.

Fixed Issues

  • The user's authentication session does not expire when Developer Studio is left open for an extended period of time. (PF6-8920)

Compatibility

  • Minimum Platform Version 9.2.0 is required to use Developer Studio. OneStream recommends upgrading to the latest platform version.

  • Minimum Platform Version 9.4.0 is required to Load and Extract XF Projects and to access full XML item configuration options. OneStream recommends upgrading to the latest platform version.

  • Developer Studio requires OneStream Identity Server (OIS).

Documentation

Recommendations

  • If Developer Studio is slow to load or becomes unresponsive, the repository root folder may be set to a location with an overly broad scope, for example, C:\Users\<username>. Developer Studio scans the repository root for .osmap and .xfproj files and registers a file watcher on that folder. When the root contains a large number of subfolders and files, these operations take longer and can cause performance issues. To prevent this, avoid selecting your user profile folder or any other high-level directory.

Known Issues

  • If you attempt to extract a data management step without its parent group or sequence, the extract will fail. (PF6-9131)
